Association of Cedarbrook Camps
Module Schedule
April – May 2012
(as of March 30, 2012)
Please find below the module series schedule planned for April and for May 2012. Note that this year a series is being offered beginning in May for those camp staff who will not begin Summer Camps until July or later.
(Please note that although the following schedule shows the modules that are scheduled for the two specified series, if there are sufficient requests (i.e. 4 or more learners) for a module in the list below not scheduled in a particular series, that module can be set up and run for those learners. Hence, if there are a group of learners from a camp, or several camps, who would like to take a module together, please advise the Module Administrator who will arrange for the requested module to be run.)
To determine the modules being offered in each series/time period please refer to Table 1 below. An X in the series column opposite the module indicates that it is being offered in that series. If there is a blank opposite a module in a particular series, the module is not being offered in that series.
A description of each module can be found further down on the screen.
To determine the specific dates the modules will start in each series/time period please refer to Table 2 below.
For example, suppose you decide you would like to take the “Cabin Fun” module.
From Table 1 you can see (by the X) that Cabin Fun is being offered in the April and May series so you can choose in which series you take it.
From Table 2 you can see the start dates for the modules in each series: April 23rd * and May 28th *.
*Note: If this your first module (i.e. you have not taken one previously), you will need to also take the orientation project, “Mary Had a…” which will start on April 16th or May 21st.
NOTES:
1) You may only take one module at a time. i.e. one module in each series.
2) However, when you select a module in a series, please select a 1st and 2nd choice in the same series (e.g. January). That way, if your first choice of module does not run due to insufficient numbers, you will be given your second choice. If neither run, you will be notified and can select another module or wait for the next series.

Module Descriptions
Note: If this is the first time you are taking a module and you are wondering how much time you will need to spend on each assignment, the recommended time for each one (usually between 30 minutes and 60 minutes, with a few 90 minutes) is indicated in the module. In addition you will require time to read and respond to what at least 3 of the other participants have posted. Therefore, you should allow an additional ½ to 1 hour for this part of the learning exercise. A general guideline is an average of 1 ½ to 2 hours per assignment period for an average of 8 assignments over the course of the module.
